| Madonna just signed a giant fashion deal that will enable her to have hands in multiple existing brands as well as start new ones. Along with her manager, Guy Oseary, she forms MG Icon with brand-management firm Iconix, which owns labels like Candie’s and Rampage along with stakes in other labels, such as Ed Hardy.
Madonna and Guy will own a 50 percent stake in the company while Iconix owns the other half. ”She’d probably be involved in design, photo shoots, everything,” says the CEO of Iconix. Next fall, she’ll rolling out a juniors’ lifestyle collection for Macy’s, inspired by her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes. The line will start with apparel, footwear, handbags, and jewelry ranging in price from $12 to $40 and will hit stores in time for back-to-school. Lourdes is heavily involved in the line, and goes to design meetings with Macy’s executives, such as chief merchandising officer Jeff Gennette. “Lourdes has an incredible sense of style,” he told WWD. |

NEWS - The Marriage Ref, the validator, Timbo, Leona, Dita, Naomi, and more.

Yesterday the taping of Jerry Seinfelds’s The Marriage Ref took place in New York. Madonna was a guest judge and made some comments on the couples. A short recap… Madonna was on stage for a full 2 hours while they were taping the show, accompanied by her staff and a photographer. Apparently the trio (Madonna, Ricky Gervais and Larry David) was hilariious. She interacted a lot with the audience making faces and swearing (quote: “dyke”, “cock”, “cunt” and “fuck”). At some point Larry David looked at her, giving her the middle finger right to her face and saying “Fuck you”, just for fun. Madonna was convinced that one of the the husbands, who was wearing a red, satin tie, was gay… The most fun moments, were the non-scripted ones. Let’s wait and see how they’ll edit the whole thing, knowing that a lot of stuff will be taken out. |

Dita Von Teese: “I admire Madonna.”
Dita Von Teese is a style icon in her own right though anyone witnessing her with her latest arm candy, Dolce & Gabbana’s Miss Sicily bag (THE Miss Sicily that guest starred in THAT Madonna campaign), one could easily think she was channeling this year’s sultriest housewife. Even more so in the light of a recent interview with Australian newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald: “I admire Madonna. She’s very hands-on with what she does. She doesn’t wait for someone else to tell her what’s in style; she gets into it. During her Evita phase, I noticed she started wearing 1940s moons painted the right way on her nails. Nobody knows that unless you’ve really done some research and noticed all those little details. A normal person would not notice those things. Psychos like me notice those things and I think Madonna is one of those people”. |
