Madonna was booed by the audience in Bucharest when she spoke out against discrimination against Gypsies and Gays during her Sticky & Sweet Tour speech before You Must Love me. She said… I’ve never been to Romania before and I am happy to be here. But I found out that there is a lot of discrimination against gypsies in Eastern Europe and that makes me very sad, especially because we believe in acceptance, gypsies, homosexuals, people that are different. Everyone must be treated the same, don’t forget that! Madonna has been praised by Hindu & Jewish Leaders for sticking up for what she believes in for years and aren’t scared of the big, bad opposition wolf. A joint statement from the two religious leaders reads… The Kolpakov Trio performing Gypsy music with Madonna says it regrets the pop star was booed during her Bucharest concert for criticizing widespread discrimination against Gypsies. According to the BBC, concert goer Ionut Dinu, 23, said: Publicist Liz Rosenberg said Madonna made the comments after being made aware of the prejudice towards Romany people in Eastern Europe. The star then received more boos when she mentioned prejudice against homosexuals and others. |

Lady GaGa will be gracing the cover of the Fall issue of V magazine, she lives up to her wild-child persona with stunning, super-bronzed images shot by Mario Testino . In a frank interview, she dishes about her unique take on style and mentions Madonna, in the process… Us Weekly putting me on a worst-dresses list? I couldn’t care less. If Karl Lagerfeld called me an ugly hag, then I’d be upset. Because it’s Karl Lagerfeld. When I was a blonde, they called me Madonna. Then they called me Christina, then Gwen. I just don’t think most people’s reference points go back very far. And although she’s achieved global fame, the singer can still get dazzled by celebrity. And who wouldn’t, after finding out that Madonna is in the audience of your N.Y.C. concert? V Magazine will be on newsstands September 1st. |

Tori Amos thinks Lady GaGa isn’t the new Madonna…
She’s what I call a meteor - singers who entertain people for a while. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that. Her timing is perfect. She’s a quick-fix tonic for people hit by the recession. The question is, will Lady Gaga be alongside Neil Young at Glastonbury in 20 years time? Amos is shoving those “next Madonna” claims aside and belittling her longevity. |
