NEWS - The Marriage Ref, the validator, Timbo, Leona, Dita, Naomi, and more.

Friday, February 26th, 2010
More info of Madonna at the taping of The Marriage Ref. Yesterday the taping of Jerry Seinfelds’s The Marriage Ref took place in New York. Madonna was a guest judge and made some comments on the couples.
A short recap…

Madonna was on stage for a full 2 hours while they were taping the show, accompanied by her staff and a photographer. Apparently the trio (Madonna, Ricky Gervais and Larry David) was hilariious. She interacted a lot with the audience making faces and swearing (quote: “dyke”, “cock”, “cunt” and “fuck”). At some point Larry David looked at her, giving her the middle finger right to her face and saying “Fuck you”, just for fun.

Madonna was convinced that one of the the husbands, who was wearing a red, satin tie, was gay…
Madonna: Ask him who picked out his clothes.
Man: I picked them out myself. Does Madonna approve of my outfit?
Madonna: Need I say more?

The most fun moments, were the non-scripted ones. Let’s wait and see how they’ll edit the whole thing, knowing that a lot of stuff will be taken out.

The episode is supposed to air on NBC in March.

Liz Rosenberg leaving Warner, but continues representing Madonna. As previously mentioned on AbMad, music publicist Liz Rosenberg has left Warner Bros. Records after almost 40 years at the label.

She is starting her own agency called Liz Rosenberg Media.
Rosenberg’s new venture will represent Madonna, who left Warner for Live Nation in 2007. In a press release she stated…

“No one has had a more thrilling ride than I have had during my decades at Warner Bros. Records where I grew up and learned my craft. I was given the opportunity to work with the most talented artists in music history. I’m grateful that I will continue to represent some of these artists, in addition to several new artists.”

Timbaland calls Madonna a genius. Timbaland: “Madonna is a genius”
Music producer Timbaland gave an interview to Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show on US radio…

“People do not respect music anymore… They go by what’s hot… If you’re hot, you deserve 4 or 5 Grammys…
Madonna is a genius and she only has 2 or 3 Grammys… What is that about?”

Leona Lewis loves Madonna. Leona Lewis: “I have always loved Madonna.”

US singer Leona Lewis told Britain’s OK! Magazine her love for Madonna…

“I have always loved Madonna. I was too young for her Sex book period, but then when I saw it I thought, ‘Wow!’
Good for her, if that’s how she wanted to express herself.
Would I express myself like that?
Well, you never know…”

Naomi Campbell is amazed by Madonna. Supermodel Naomi Campbell told PEOPLE at the Elle Style Awards in London, that Madonna and Lady Gaga as her Style Icons…

“I think my style icons are people that reinvent themselves—they come back with a different look, a different vibe, a different sound and Madonna is definitely one of those people. It’s just amazing to watch her through all these decades—she just keeps coming back.”

She also opined that the current trend of flashy accessories and shock-worthy outfits were all due to Lady Gaga.
“She’s definitely a big style icon for everyone, and it’s made everyone go a bit more edgy with their fashion.”

Simon Cowell doesn't think Madonna can replace him. Simon Cowell: Madonna couldn’t replace me…

Simon Cowell knows what it takes to be an American Idol judge, and he says Madonna isn’t the right choice to replace him next season.
He labeled Madonna a pipe dream, said gossip blogger Perez Hilton might be a good fit and talked about Lady Gaga being the most relevant pop artist in the world right now..
Talking about the time commitment. Cowell said he doesn’t think a big name like Madonna could manage that.

Dita Von Teese admires Madonna. Dita Von Teese: “I admire Madonna.”

Dita Von Teese is a style icon in her own right though anyone witnessing her with her latest arm candy, Dolce & Gabbana’s Miss Sicily bag (THE Miss Sicily that guest starred in THAT Madonna campaign), one could easily think she was channeling this year’s sultriest housewife. Even more so in the light of a recent interview with Australian newspaper the Sydney Morning Herald:

“I admire Madonna. She’s very hands-on with what she does. She doesn’t wait for someone else to tell her what’s in style; she gets into it. During her Evita phase, I noticed she started wearing 1940s moons painted the right way on her nails. Nobody knows that unless you’ve really done some research and noticed all those little details. A normal person would not notice those things. Psychos like me notice those things and I think Madonna is one of those people”.

IN SHORT…

Dolly Parton says relationship between celebrities can never work…
“Aren’t Angelina and Brad meant to be having problems? And Madonna and her husband Guy (Ritchie) didn’t last long. There are so many break-ups that the names pass me by but it makes me think, if you want to escape the spotlight why marry another famous person?”

Jesus Luz has signed a record deal and is releasing his first single, ‘We Came From Light’, in May

► Next summer a handful of Madonna’s classic songs, including ‘Vogue’ and ‘Like A Prayer’, will be licensed for a major advertising campaign in the US.

► The new official Madonna app is also available for Android. Just check The Market and look for Madonna…

► The “Like a Prayer vs. Feels like home vs. Don’t you want me” mash-up, used during the Sticky & Sweet Tour, has finally been released as a single. Last season, we had two celebrities . . . one because Lady Gaga was doing our party, and she didn’t even make it to her seat because we started the show before she got there. And one was Madonna.
She came backstage, and I was like, ‘What do you do with her now?’ Because it’s not like she was invited. She just called and said she was coming, and we weren’t holding the show for her. She just came, and that was it. There are certain things I can’t control.” Jacobs adds, “We used to have all the celebrities and people there, and I think that at that moment in time, that’s what people loved. It generated so much press and at a certain point it was like, ‘Did anybody actually watch the show?’ “
